Family crest

I've been updating some research on the family crest, including a translation from Siebermacher's coat of arms book that describes the Bauernfeind crest.

Check it out at my coat of arms blog.

Six weeks in ...

to the 5th Series of Doctor Who and it seems as if they are going to continue the theme from the first episode of Series 1, namely that Doctor is the bringer of death to civilizations. It is definitely not the theme from the series in the 70s and 80s, but I suppose it is fitting for a 21. Century Doctor. Thus far in, I think Matt Smith is doing well as the Doctor. It will be fun to watch how the new writer and new actor take Doctor Who as the year progresses.

New Doctor Who

After several months, following a great final episode and send off for David Tenant, tonight's Doctor Who did not disappoint. It retained the light-hearted goofiness of the previous series. It's different seeing a young Doctor, but the new writer and cast look very promising. Matt Smith brings a Tenant-like feel to the Doctor. Hopefully we will see a continuation of the light-hearted comedy brought by Tenant. Karen Gillian as the Doctor's companion we haven't seen since Rose. It seems like Series 5 is returning to the fun days of Series 2 before the episodes took a more darker and serious turn. Three cheers for the new series, and the two week delay in the States from the UK's debut at the beginning of April.
